Janitorial Bid Network alternative for cleaning bids with pricing compared

Janitorial Bid Network (janitorialbids.net) is a public bid board run by the North America Procurement Council. You can read its listings at no charge, but its paid subscription now signs you up for Bid Ocean, which costs 65 to 125 USD a month for one state. The closest alternatives are FindRFP (19.95 USD a month) for public bids, SAM.gov (no charge) for federal work, and Janitorial (79 USD a month) for private cleaning requests in your area that arrive already priced.

Price a bid from any listing before you pay for alerts

A bid board pays for itself only when you win at a margin. Take the square footage, facility type and nights per week from any solicitation, enter them with your state, and the estimator returns labor hours per visit, crew size and a monthly price range with supplies, overhead and margin on separate lines. No account needed.

Janitorial Bid Network alternatives in short

Cleaning company estimator reviewing a list of open bid notices on a laptop at a desk

We read janitorialbids.net, its terms of usage and the Bid Ocean plan page in October 2026. Three findings matter if you are about to subscribe.

  • The subscribe link no longer leads to a Janitorial Bid Network checkout. It lands on a Bid Ocean welcome page that says the council's opportunities moved to a new portal, with Lite and Core plans priced by number of states.
  • Bid Ocean is built around construction trades, with a goods and services catalog beside them. Before you pay, check that janitorial service solicitations for your state appear under the category you would subscribe to.
  • The board mixes service contracts with supply purchases. Of the 16 most recent listings on the home page when we checked, 6 were cleaning service contracts (an airport terminal, a forensic lab, transit authority buildings, a treatment plant) and 10 were orders for shop towels, vacuum filters, chemicals and custodial equipment.

If you clean buildings and do not sell supplies, roughly a third of that list was work you could bid on. That is normal for a public bid aggregator, and it is the main reason owners look for an alternative that filters harder or that lists private work.

Janitorial Bid Network pricing and the alternatives side by side

Prices come from each vendor's own page, checked in October 2026. Confirm on the vendor's page before you pay.

How much does Janitorial Bid Network cost?

Reading the listings on janitorialbids.net costs nothing, and the site describes its subscription only as a low monthly fee. In October 2026 the subscribe link led to Bid Ocean, where one state costs 65 to 80 USD a month on Lite and 100 to 125 USD on Core, or 650 to 1,250 USD a year.

Public bid boards against a private request feed

Every service in the top half of the table sells the same raw material: public solicitations that agencies are required to publish anyway. That shapes the work you get from them.

  • Slow cycle. A school district or county RFP usually runs four to eight weeks from posting to award, and the contract often starts months later.
  • Heavy paperwork. Expect a bid bond or a performance bond, insurance certificates, references from accounts of similar size and sometimes prevailing wage rules.
  • Many bidders. The solicitation is public, so every contractor in the region can see it, and the award usually goes to the lowest responsive price.
  • Large buildings. An airport terminal or an 88,000 sq ft lab needs a crew and a payroll float that a five-person company does not have.

Private requests behave differently. A property manager or a clinic owner who posts a job wants a cleaner in two or three weeks, invites a handful of companies and signs with the one that answers fast with a clear price. For a company under about 20 accounts, that is where most new revenue comes from, and it is the reason a commercial cleaning leads feed usually pays back sooner than a bid subscription.

None of this makes public work a bad idea. Once you can carry the bonding, add a public source. If you want federal work beyond what SAM.gov shows you by hand, a tool built to search and track federal opportunities saves the daily keyword searches.

Which Janitorial Bid Network alternative fits your company?

Pick by the work you can staff this quarter.

  1. 1 Under 10 accounts, one metro. Skip paid bid boards for now. Read janitorialbids.net and your city and county portals by hand once a week, and put the budget into private requests. See how commercial cleaning contracts arrive in a feed with the price attached.
  2. 2 10 to 50 accounts, a few counties. Add one low-cost aggregator. FindRFP at 199.50 USD a year covers up to four states, which is about a third of the cheapest one-state Bid Ocean plan. Keep the private feed for accounts that sign quickly.
  3. 3 You sell supplies as well as service. A board that lists towel, chemical and equipment purchases is useful to you, and Janitorial Bid Network or Bid Ocean's goods and services side earns its fee.
  4. 4 You bid public work in several states with a dedicated estimator. Bid Ocean Core, BidNet Direct or Periscope S2G make sense here, and our comparison of commercial cleaning bidding websites lists what each one charges.

Whatever you choose, price every solicitation before you spend a day on the paperwork. Run it through the commercial cleaning calculator, and drop any bid where the likely winning price is below your number.

Is Janitorial Bid Network worth it?

The site is worth bookmarking, because browsing costs nothing and the listings are current. The paid step is worth it only if you bid public work every month, since it now means a Bid Ocean plan from 650 USD a year. Owners who mainly want new commercial accounts get more from a private request feed.

Where Janitorial fits instead of a bid board

Janitorial is the alternative for owners who want buildings, not solicitations. Offices, clinics, banks, churches, schools and warehouses in your service area post cleaning requests at no cost, and each one reaches your feed with square footage, frequency, the service window and a monthly price range already calculated. You open the estimate, adjust what you saw on the walkthrough and send a PDF proposal with your logo.

Starter is 79 USD a month or 468 USD a year for one service area, with 100 AI pricing runs and 15 bid responses a month. Growth at 199 USD covers three areas, drafts proposals with AI and adds public-sector requests matched to your area and NAICS code 561720, so you do not need a second subscription for city, county and school work. For the public side in detail, see government cleaning contracts.
