BidNet Direct pricing in short
We checked Sovra's supplier pricing page in October 2026. BidNet Direct's own site blocks automated checks, so the annual prices below come from a review that read the vendor page in late August 2026. Here is what matters before you subscribe.
- The free Basic tier is permanent, not a trial. It covers solicitations from agencies that publish on BidNet Direct as members, and you can submit bids to those agencies electronically.
- Paid plans are priced by geography, not by trade. A janitorial company pays the same as a roofing contractor or a software vendor for the same states.
- Paid plans add bids from agencies that are not members, saved advanced searches and a daily match summary by email.
- Annual billing is roughly half of twelve monthly payments: 599 USD a year against 1,200 USD for Local paid monthly.
If every city, county and school district you want to clean for already posts on BidNet Direct as a member, Basic is enough and you pay nothing.
BidNet Direct plans and prices side by side
Monthly prices are from Sovra's supplier pricing page. Annual prices and add-ons are third-party figures read from the BidNet Direct vendor page in August 2026. Confirm both inside your account before you pay.
| Plan | Coverage | Monthly price | Annual price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Bids from member agencies | No charge | No charge | Browse and bid member agency solicitations, real-time bid matches |
| Local | One state you choose | 100 USD | 599 USD reported | Bids from non-member agencies in that state, saved advanced searches, daily match summary |
| Regional | Three states you choose | 200 USD | 1,199 USD reported | Same as Local across three states |
| National | Every US state | 330 USD | 1,999 USD reported | Same as Local nationwide |
Reported add-ons, sold per year: a construction analytics bundle at about 499 USD, a supplier advertising profile at about 249 USD and a federal bids package at about 149 USD. A cleaning company rarely needs the construction bundle unless it bids post-construction cleanup as a subcontractor.
How much does BidNet Direct cost?
BidNet Direct costs nothing on the Basic tier, which shows member agency bids. Paid plans are 100 USD a month for one state, 200 USD for three states and 330 USD for all states. Annual billing is reported at 599, 1,199 and 1,999 USD a year, roughly half the monthly total.
What a cleaning company actually gets from BidNet Direct
BidNet Direct lists public solicitations: cities, counties, school districts, transit authorities, water utilities, housing authorities and state agencies. Janitorial work shows up under custodial and janitorial service categories, mixed with purchases of cleaning supplies, paper goods and floor equipment. You filter by category and keyword, and the daily summary sends the matches.
The work that comes through looks like this:
- City hall, library and police station custodial contracts, often three to five years with renewal options.
- School district custodial services for one building or a whole district, sometimes with day porters.
- Transit stations, bus maintenance facilities and parking structures.
- Housing authority unit turnovers and common-area cleaning.
- One-time jobs such as post-construction cleanup, carpet extraction or window washing on a public building.
Public solicitations come with paperwork a private building never asks for. Expect a bid bond on larger contracts, insurance certificates naming the agency, references from accounts of similar size, prevailing wage rules on some contracts and signed forms such as a non-collusion affidavit. Many agencies still want that affidavit notarized, and where the agency accepts remote notarization you can notarize the affidavit online the same afternoon instead of driving to a bank. Award usually goes to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, so your price has to be tight and complete.
What BidNet Direct costs per contract you win
The subscription is cheap next to one contract. A 25,000 sq ft school building cleaned five nights a week prices at about 5,750 to 6,750 USD a month in Texas on our estimator, so one award covers a year of the Local plan in under a week of revenue. The real cost is the hours your estimator spends on bids you lose.
| Bids submitted per year | Typical win rate on public bids | Contracts won | Local plan per contract won (599 USD a year) | Regional plan per contract won (1,199 USD a year) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 1 in 10 | 0 to 1 | 599 USD or more | 1,199 USD or more |
| 12 | 1 in 8 | 1 to 2 | 300 to 599 USD | 600 to 1,199 USD |
| 24 | 1 in 6 | 4 | about 150 USD | about 300 USD |
| 48 | 1 in 5 | 9 to 10 | about 60 USD | about 120 USD |
The win rates are planning assumptions for a company new to public work, not BidNet Direct data. Each public bid also takes 4 to 12 hours for the walkthrough, the forms and the price. At 12 bids a year, that time costs far more than the subscription, which is why the number that decides is how many solicitations you can staff, not the plan price.
Is BidNet Direct worth it for a cleaning company?
BidNet Direct is worth it when you bid public custodial contracts every month and the agencies you target are not all members. Start on the free Basic tier, count how many relevant janitorial solicitations reach you in 30 days, and pay for Local only if non-member agencies in your state are where the work is.

Where Janitorial fits next to BidNet Direct
Janitorial is built for the work BidNet Direct does not list: private buildings. Offices, clinics, banks, churches, gyms and warehouses in your service area post cleaning requests at no cost, and each one reaches your feed with square footage, frequency, the service window and a monthly price range already calculated. Private owners usually sign within two or three weeks, with no bid bond and no sealed envelope.
Starter is 79 USD a month or 468 USD a year for one service area. Growth at 199 USD a month or 1,188 USD a year covers three areas and adds a public-sector feed with city, county, school district, state and federal janitorial RFPs matched to your area and NAICS code 561720, plus an AI proposal builder. For a company that bids both sides, Growth costs about the same as BidNet Direct Regional and prices every request for you. BidNet Direct pricing, common questions
Is BidNet Direct free?
Yes, the Basic tier is free and does not expire. It shows solicitations from agencies that publish on BidNet Direct as members and lets you submit bids to them. Bids from non-member agencies, saved advanced searches and the daily match summary need a paid plan starting at 100 USD a month for one state.
How much is a BidNet Direct subscription per year?
BidNet Direct annual plans are reported at 599 USD for one state, 1,199 USD for three states and 1,999 USD nationwide. Paid monthly, the same plans cost 100, 200 and 330 USD, so annual billing saves about half. Check the price shown in your account before you pay, because plans change.
Who owns BidNet Direct?
BidNet Direct is run by Sovra, which also operates the Canadian tender service MERX and the pre-RFP intelligence tool Ontopical. GovernmentBids.com now redirects to BidNet Direct, so older lists that count them as two services describe the same product.
Does BidNet Direct have janitorial bids?
Yes. Cities, counties, school districts and other agencies post custodial and janitorial service solicitations on BidNet Direct, along with purchases of cleaning supplies and equipment. Filter by the janitorial service category and your state, and check how many service contracts appear before you choose a paid plan.
Is there a cheaper alternative to BidNet Direct for cleaning companies?
For federal work, SAM.gov costs nothing. FindRFP covers public bids from 19.95 USD a month. If you mainly want private commercial accounts, Janitorial lists cleaning requests in your area from 79 USD a month, and Growth at 199 USD adds public-sector requests with the price already calculated.
